Sammy Quacking

So Sammy has been quacking for about a month. We got him this little duck for Easter that quacks and he LOVES it.

So here are some videos of him quacking. Turn your speakers up since he is kinda quiet.

Stevie and the Double Rainbow

I was sitting in the back yard just a little while ago and saw this:

So I called Stevie out to see. He was so excited. He even knew what they were.

After a few minutes, I went back inside to give Sammy something to munch on while I got some dishes done. The next thing I know, I hear Stevie in the backyard crying.

Me: Stevie, whats the matter?
Stevie: (whining)The rainbow is gone. I cant see it anymore.
Me: Oh sweety, they don't stick around forever. But you will see another one.
Stevie: (whining still)But its gone.
Me: I promise that when I see another one, I will come get you.
Stevie: Ok.

It broke my heart to see him crying because the rainbow disappeared. He was sooooo sad.

Just a quick family update

So Sammy's 4th & 5th teeth came in on Monday. His poor little gums are so red and swollen. But I keep feeding him Otter Pops and that seems to help.

I would post some pictures but he wont hold still long enough to get a clear picture.

Grandma Vi is off to Wyoming (or is it Montana?) on Friday.

Yesterday, Stevie and I were sitting in the swing on the back porch. He looked at me and said, "I am your responsibility huh mom". Ummm, yeah. I must say responsibility a whole lot because he said it so clearly and used it in the correct context.

When we were in the airport waiting for Andy's flight, he told Stevie that he needed to be the man of the house. I don't think Stevie would have been happier if we had told him that Spongebob himself was coming to visit him. If you ask Stevie how he is doing and he will proudly tell you "I am the MAN of the house!" It is adorable.

He is growing up so quickly. It kinda makes me sad.

We have another tooth!

Sammy has gotten his 3rd tooth. So now he has 2 on the bottom and 1 on the top.

It is all making sense now. The not napping. The not eating. The crying. The getting up early. The chewing on everything in sight. It is all so crystal clear.

Sammy was sitting in the bathtub Wednesday night and figured out splashing.

The only problem was, when he would splash, the water would hit his face. That was making him really mad so he splashed harder. The water hit him in the face harder. So he would get madder and splash even harder. This went on for a good 10 minutes before I started getting splashed and pulled him out of the tub. It was so cute. I will try to get some video of it to share.

Turkey

I found out today that Sammy does NOT like turkey.

I tried to feed it to him weeks before and he had spit it down his shirt.

So I tried again today and he scooped the whole bite out of his mouth with his finger.

I don't think I will try to feed him jarred turkey again.

Update on Grandma Vi

Her hip replacement last week went well.

There were no complications and she is up and moving around with the help of a walker.

She was moved to the Rehabilitation Center near the hospital. As it turns out, she feels that she is not getting the care she thinks she needs and wants to come home.

Well, for more than one reason (which I will not get into right now), my mom cannot take care of her.

So from what I understand, Uncle Jim is going to come get her. As you might already know, he works in health care and has the knowledge and means to take care of her.

So Grandma Vi is off to Wyoming.

I am not sure when or for how long, but I will try to keep you all updated when I am updated.
