Well Stevie needs tubes.
I kinda had a strong feeling that he did. He has had too many ear infections to not get them.
I liked the Dr. He seemed very kind and even though the visit was fast, he was clear and very specific.
Stevie even let him look in his ears, up his nose and down his throat without a huge meltdown.
When the Dr looked in Stevie's throat he commented that he has the biggest tonsils he had seen in a long time.
So the plan is, the Drs office is going to call me sometime before next Tuesday with an appointment. They only do surgeries on Friday so it will either be for next Friday or the Friday after that.
The procedure seems simple enough. He will get a light anesthesia through a mask, just to keep him from moving around. The whole thing shouldn't take more than half an hour. It is out-patient so as soon as he is back awake, we can take him home.
They are only doing tubes. The Dr said that since he only gets ear infections without a runny nose and sore throat it is not necessary to take out his tonsils and adenoids. I totally agree. Why take them out if there aren't any problems?
